Licensing
PowerPortalsPro requires a valid license key to operate. You can request a free trial license key every 6 months or purchase a full license through the Microsoft Marketplace.
Requesting a Trial License
- Register for an account on powerportalspro.com.
- Once logged in, navigate to the License Key menu in your profile.
- Click the button to request a trial license key.
Note
Trial license keys can be requested once every 6 months.
Purchasing a License
Full licenses are available for purchase on the Microsoft Marketplace. Once purchased, your license key will be provided to you.
Installing the License Key
Once you have your license key, follow these steps to register it with your Dataverse environment:
- Download and install the PowerPortalsPro.Core managed solution into your Dataverse environment from the Releases page.
- Open the Power Portals Pro model-driven app in your environment.
- Navigate to the Portal Website section and create a new record.
- Enter your license key and set the URL to the production URL of your deployed portal (e.g.
https://myportal.azurewebsites.net).
Portal URL Configuration
The URL entered in the Portal Website record must match the deployed URL of your production portal. The license key is bound to a single portal and URL.
Development & Test Environments
If you have development, test, UAT, or staging environments, the Portal Website URL should still be set to your production portal URL. During license validation, the following URL variations are automatically accepted:
https://myportal-dev.azurewebsites.nethttps://myportal-test.azurewebsites.nethttps://myportal-uat.azurewebsites.nethttps://myportal-stage.azurewebsites.net
Changing the Portal URL
If you need to change the portal URL associated with your license key, you can update the existing Portal Website record at any time, or delete it and create a new one. The license key can only be assigned to a single portal URL at a time.
