Saved Views

Set AllowSavedViews="true" (allowSavedViews in React) and a signed-in user can save the grid as they've arranged it as a view of their own: its filters, columns, sort, grouping, totals, layout and page size. Their views are offered in the view picker beside the grid's own, and they can make any view their default and hide the ones they don't use. Give the grid a SavedViewsKey (savedViewsKey) and the views saved on it, and its default and hidden views, are its own rather than shared with every grid of the table. Saved views need the Power Portals Pro Core solution's tables; an internal user also needs the Power Portals Pro Saved Views security role.

Saving Views of the Sample Contacts

Sign in, then change the grid: filter it, hide or move a column, sort it, group it or add totals. The Settings button on the toolbar fills in to show the view has changed, and its menu holds the views' commands. Things to try:

  • Pick Contacts by company: a view the page defines that says how the grid lays it out, as a saved view does: 20 per page, grouped by company, the name pinned, the company column titled Company, the mobile phone hidden and the average age totalled. With PageSize, GroupLevels and each column's Pin, DisplayLabel, Hidden and Aggregates on GridViewDefinition (pageSize, groupLevels, pin, displayLabel, hidden and aggregates in React).
  • Choose Columns from the Settings menu to add columns to the view — the contact's own, or a related table's: choose Add a table related to Contact and follow a lookup, such as the contact's company, and on from there up to five tables deep. Untick a column to hide it. With AllowAddingColumns="true" (allowAddingColumns).
  • Choose Save as new view from the Settings menu and give it a name. The grid shows your new view, and it is in the view picker from now on.
  • Change a view of your own and choose Save to keep the change in it.
  • Choose Set as my default to open this grid on the view shown next time.
  • Choose Manage views to rename, copy or delete your views, change your default, or hide a view from the picker and show it again.
